Dr. Manish Kumar is an experienced Managing Director and CEO. As the MD & CEO of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), he provided strategic vision to the Skill India Mission. Prior to joining NSDC, he led a $1.5 billion The World Bank loan for India's "Swaachh Bharat" initiative. He also worked for the World Bank in the Middle East and North African countries, covering Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Egypt, and others.
Manish served in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), occupying various positions in Government of Tripura until 2011. During his tenure in Tripura, he conceptualized and executed economic development programs aimed at countering insurgency and was selected as a Mason Fellow by Harvard University for his leadership in empowering tribal women.
Manish holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mining Machinery from IIT (ISM), Dhanbad, a Master in Public Administration from Harvard University, USA, and a PhD in Public Policy from The George Washington University, Washington DC, USA.

A seasoned leader with over four decades of distinguished experience in General and Operational Management. Colonel Chandel is a decorated Cavalry Officer, having served the Indian Army with honor. Following his military service, he transitioned into Human Resource Management, gaining a decade of expertise within a leading industrial conglomerate in India. His journey continued with the National Skill Development Corporation, where he rose in the skill ecosystem to become the Chief Executive Officer of the Water Management & Plumbing Skill Council.
Colonel Chandel has also played a pivotal role in enhancing India's global standing by organizing and leading the Indian contingent at WorldSkills competitions, where the team earned prestigious accolades. His contributions extend to addressing the industry’s need for a skilled workforce, providing customized solutions for critical roles.
Colonel Chandel combines strategic insight with a postgraduate degree in management and a deep understanding of human potential, making him a versatile and impactful professional.
